anyone made a custom borla setup?

sometime this month im gonna drop the x-pipe/duals and either go with the OEM LS1 muffler with e-cutout that i have in storage. or fab my own borla type system with a single in/out muffler(quiet one) then just make a y junction before the muffler with flanges and some fabbed plates like in the borla system welded to the tips for easy removal. anyone tried this or have any feedback on it? its a low cost alternative and i was just sitting here at work thinking about it.
