Header install

Making a block off plate would be pretty easy, but I have read on this forum that htey sell them on ebay.

I had alot of trouble with my EGR hook up when I installed my pacesetters. I had to bend the EGR fitting slightly to get the header in the car, so that caused big problems for me when I went to hook it up. After fighting with it and the tranny dipstick for a while I ended up taking the EGR hose off at the back of the intake. This allowed me to straiten the header side of the hose out, I had tweaked it pretty good wresting with it. It never would have gone on like that. I still had to bend the tranny tube a bit, but it was alot easier to get on this way. Hope this helps.

I had trouble with the tranny dipstick and the EGR fitting conflicting with each other as well. I ended up pulling the header, heating up the fitting with a Sears propane torch, and I bent it an inch towards the firewall location with a piece of rod iron. After that, the EGR hooked up perfectly.

I will sell you a block off plate and gasket for the header, $2 shipped? It came with the block off plate set I bought but my headers are race only so I didn't use it.
As for the banging on the floorboard, I just did mine a week or so ago, haven't gotten around to fixing that yet. I've searched and seen some suggestions like heat up the header and y pipe and bend that section down, shim the tranny mount with washers so it's a bit lower and the engine angles the pipe away from the floorboard, remove the y-pipe and cut the bump in the frame, and seal up the hole with a custom piece of sheet metal welded there, I've even heard of welding a valve spring on the pipe or frame right there. Not sure what I'm going to do, but someone said that shimming the tranny might be bad, so be careful on that one.
