3rd gen stainless header sources

I need help finding a good priced set of long tube headers for my 85z. It seems like everywhere I can find here on the net only has coated long tubes, stainless shortys, or outrageously priced ($700+) stainless long tubed headers. I don't know if I'm looking in the wrong spots or if I should just go with a plain set (non-stainless). The stainless ones caught my attention because they seem to be the most durable, and they look good. My car isn't very fast or modified, and I figured this would be a good place to start bumping up the HP.
So, does anyone know of a good set of stainless headers in the low price range? Or am I just too retarted to realize that stainless ones are going to be expensive from anyone? ...and if that's the case, what other coatings or types should I consider? I was going to get a set of the $100 stainless shortys, but read around on here and a few other sites that the short ones aren't really worth the time and effort.

They are going to be expensive anywhere you go. Afterall, you have a set of headers that will last for a very long time, if not the life of the car. It may be cheaper just to settle for a set of headers that have been coated. That should cut the cost to at least half.

SLP shorties in 1-3/4" might be your best bet. Comes with a Y-pipe, gaskets bolts. Retains fsctory style cat back systems. These are stainless 409 i believe. They turn a dark brown color if not coated but they never rust like a cheap header. They fit nicely also, much better than Hooker long tubes..I've had both! goodluck!

Long tubes run you into custom exhaust. Coated Hooker long tubes would be more cash than the SLP's for sure.

Well, custom exhaust doesn't scare me because I have access to a hoist/torches/help. On top of that, my car already has the cat removed and it's pretty much a solid pipe going back to the muffler...
