2000 Camaro 3.8 Exhaust suggestions.

Not sure if I should have stuck this in the V6 General forums, but basically im trying to find out which muffler i should get for my 2k camaro w/ 3.8 v6 i was told by one guy that it will sound like a honda with a flowmaster muffler on it. I just want to give it a nice exhaust tone similiar of that to a v8. Car is completely stock this is really the only modification i plan on making to it.

It's going to sound like a bumblebee with any aftermarket cat-back exhaust...since you have 3.8

No it won't sound like a bumblebee. If You put a high flow cat on it, and then put a flowmaster 80 series, or a hooker aerochamber it ought to sound really good. I think they make 3.8 headers that would help it sound a little better too. It might be a bit raspy on the v6, You might have to add a resonator before the muffler to deepen the sound. Add a good free flowing intake and the sound will wake up even more.

I had a buddy with a catback on his 97 3.8L Camaro, and it definitely didn't sound like a bumblebee. Actually had a nice tone to it. I have no idea what it was, but it kinda looked like Magnaflow.

I had a 97 3.8, and it had a flowmaster 40 series on it when I bought it. it sounded alright for a v6, but wasn't a v8 . After that I got mod fever and got a magnaflow hi-flow cat and TSP rumbler catback. At idle, it sounded really good, almost the sound of a v8, above 2 grand it was a bumble bee though. Partially to the resonator instead of a muffler, and partially to the cat.
