why does my stock cd player suck.

One time my CD player stuck and the CD wouldn't come out and I got the Err message and no buttons would respond like it was locked up for some reason, I thought it was broke. A Couple of days after that I accidentally ran the battery down and when I jump started it and got the car going again the CD player started working and ejected the CD.
You might try disconnecting the battery for 5-10 mins. then the radio might reset, but make sure that the THEFTLOCK is turned off on your radio! Otherwise if you disconnect the battery your radio will not work at all after hooking the battery back up! Then would have to take it to the dealer they have codes to unlock the radio.
One other thing try different CDs some CD-Rs won't play in my CD player

You don't have to go to the dealer to unlock your HU if you don't remember the unlock code.
Theftloc Bypass
1. Press and hold presets 2 & 3 for about 10 seconds until the first 3 digits of the display code are displayed
2. Write the numbers down.
3. Press the AM FM button, write down the next 3 numbers
4. Call 1-800-537-5140, when asked, enter 202107, press the “button” and enter the 6 digit code from the radio, you will get an unlock code, write it down.
5. Go back to the car, press the HR button and set the first 2 numbers, then press minute button and set the next two last numbers, press AM FM button, SEC should be displayed, turn on radio
To remove customers code, repeat step 5. you should see --- on radio face, the code is now out of the radio.

I would recommend getting a new one anyways. When I had the stock CD Player it was always skipping when I'd change lanes on the freeway
