1OTL Exhaust on SS?

My buddy I used to work with had an LS1 SS...don't remember the year. It was red and convertible...really sweet. I remember it had a single-on-the-left exhaust, which I assumed was the factory SS exhaust. But besides his car, I've never seen that same exhaust on any other SS. Did SLP (or GM) offer the single on the driver side as an option. My buddy told me he bought the car from the dealership that way.

I've never seen a 1OTL ever. I know there are some manufacturers like edelbrock, bassani (bx), and flowmaster I believe had some cat-backs that were just a single exit out the left, but I've never seen an SLP version.

Buddy of mine had a flowmaster system on his 95 Z28 that was 4 inch and 1OTL. Tucked up real nice, couldnt even see it. It was hilarious when people believed him when he told them it was just a V6 car.

Mufflex makes something similar but it's out the right.

The only 1OTL exh I've ever seen was on a stock V6.

The Mufflex single outlet 3.5" or 4" catback with the Flowmaster exits on the left side, not the right. A buddy of mine had the 4" Mufflex on his 9.0-second SS, with the original 2OTL tip welded to the Mufflex single outlet..... looked stock.

Makes sense...my friend told me that the dealership said it was one of the less restricted mufflers (not excluding aftermarket). I just wonder why his car was the only one I've ever seen. Probably b/c it was only on the SS, and it was only for 1 year like you said.
