1 5/8 inch band clamp?
I have MAC mid length headers on my 94 Z28 and a lot of people say they have used band clamps on the slip-tube to fix the leak that tends to develop there. My question is if the primary is in the vicinity of 1 5/8 inch what size band clamp did you use? I have looked all over the internet after a trip to NAPA where they only had a 2" band clamp available and I have still not found nothing smaller. Will a 2" band clamp work or should I keep looking?
Any other suggestions other than welding it?
Thanks.

I was specifically looking to avoid the t-style clamp as that is what comes with the MAC mids and is the source of my problem. Yet I have seen several threads with people claiming they have used band clamps but no one mentions the size?

No T-clamp clamp was provided for the #1 cylinder tube on my set. The aftermarket vendor said to use the old U-clamp style. Clamp that down tightly and good luck if you ever need to pull that pipe! A T-clamp worked for me.
If the fit on yours is too loose then I suggest careful use of a pipe expander on the male tube to get closer to an interference fit along with the usual suggestion of a thin coating of High-Temp Silicone sealant. I know the exhaust heat there is too high but apparently the silicone "chars" up and helps.

Don't know if your headers are coated or not but I had mine welded and it only cost $10 at a local welding shop. That did the trick. While they were at it I had them get rid of the air tubes on the #1 & 2 primarys.
