is it true that the o2 sensors do not affect hp cuz ther not used while WOT ?

I had similar "slow response" O2..just replace them. In my case, it "should" have messed up my mpg, because as we scanned it while idle, driver side thinks it was running lean, so compensated by adding fuel.

I didn't see the difference at the pump, but it ran like crap. I'm a firm believer of having good operating O2s, unless you're running WOT all day long. I have a daily driver, so it just looked funny rattling and surging at stop lights.
