02 sensor low response

02 sensor slow response

i just installed the headers the other day and made the extesion that comes with the pace setter kit and barley to day i get a service engine code i plug in the scanner and it shows bank 1 o2 sensor slow response

If they are coated headers that you installed, you most likely trashed the 02 sensors, its pretty common when installing a fresh set of coated headers. That is why people will usually drive the car for a week or so on the old 02 sensors, and then swap in a fresh set.

It will do it with painted headers too.

Once you first start it and get things up to temp, the coating on the inside of the headers melt off and coat the O2 sensors, fouling them. I would use the old O2 sensors for a few weeks and then install the new ones.

the headers were used so i think ther was no paint left in them and yes they were black

if your o2s are getting low response, you need new ones period, get bosch btw, its wat the cars were designed for

I hear vice-versa, Delcos are usually the recommendation of choice for 02 sensor replacement as alot of people have had problems with the Boschs.

Exactly which O2 sensor code did you get.... there's codes for "low voltage", "slow response" and no activity, but not for "low response"?

sorry i it was that slow response should i buy new sensors and is it killing my hp bad ?

Slow response means they are near dead. Replace them.

Stick with factory Delco replacements, they are shown to have the best results on these cars versus the other knock off brands.
