Some advice please...

I have a 2002 SS and I want some advice on a couple things. First, I just installed the Borla adjustable catback and it sounds awesome. I am trying to decide what headers to install next, and any input would be great. Second, I installed the power tuning with a Hypertech power programmer, and I am getting some detonation (pinging) at wide open throttle. I am still running the stock thermostat, and have heard changing to the 160 thermostat from Hypertech eliminates the detonation, and I was wondering if anyone knows the truth of that claim.

First if u know a "friendly" inspection shop...i would say get SLPs long tube headers.......as for ur pinging problem changing to the 160 T-stat will make u run richer but it might not stop the pinging.......IMO and the opinion of many other LS1 owners the Hypertech power program is worth using..........most ppl have reported little to no power increase and sum even power loss......bought the only thing its good for is turning ur fans on lower and adjusting shift for A4s............i would definitely uninstall the power program until u install ur t-stat otherwise u might hurt ur engine
