Z28 A4 weird shifting issues... PCM?
Z28 A4 weird shifting issues... PCM?
Ok, so my car will shift fine if left in 4th or in 3rd. It will shift up and down on it's own with no problems
Here is my issues. If I leave my car in second gear, it will never shift back down to first gear. It will stay in second gear unless i shift it back into first.
If I am stopped and in park and put the car into second gear it will correctly start in first. Then it will shift from first to second ok, but will not come back into first when my speed is decreased.
It can't be the Tranny, because this is a new one and it did the exact same on the old one.
any thoughts? I do have LT1 edit to edit my PCM if there is anything in there you can think of.

So I think I might have found my issue. does it look like I have too strong/weak of a shift in my transmission?

ok found my issue. Back in the day my pcm was sent to ed wright before I got lt1 edit. It was programmed to never downshift from second to first, and the line pressure was set way too high at a constant pressure.
car now shifts and rides like it is supposed to
