4L60E problem. Missing 3rd and 4th. I believe its the 3 and 4 clutches. Any info related to this problem is more than helpful.

The 3-4 clutches are a common problem in stock 4L60Es. GM had several "design flaws" that contributed to it. We make numerous modifications and changed to them to eliminate the causes.

Is that something that can be resolved without rebuilding the transmision?
What are your recommondations?

Unfortunately not. Fixing all the flaws is a pretty in depth procedure. It is possible to just replace the 3-4 clutches, but this still requires removing and diassembling the transmission. Even if you just replace the clutches, the problems that led into it will still be there, and it will continue to happen.
