Why would you want to use a V6 two piece dr shaft when 4th Gen Aluminum shafts are a dime a dozen and are available in most salvale yards.

A 2 piece ds behind the LT1 would not last long.

Here's what one top driveshaft producer has to say about the F-Body 2-piece driveshafts:

Shown (below) is one of GM's "better Ideas". This is a terrible design. We offer new 1 piece driveshaft in steel and aluminum. This eliminates the carrier bearing and enclosed 6 ball CV assembly. This driveshaft is over $900 from the dealer. The OE driveshaft is very heavy and overly complicated.

ALL V8 4th Gens (Z28, SS, B4C, Formula, Trans Am, Firehawk) had one-piece driveshafts.

The Firebird 3.4L V6's and the 3.8L V6's (up to about 98 or 99) had the 2-piece driveshaft. I've read that the 2-piece design was utilized to cancel some harmonics generated by the valley angle of the V6 engine.
