Will a 95 Impala SS 4L60e fit in a 94 Z28?
I seem to remember that 95's worked a little bit different than 94's. My 4l60e is in pretty bad shape right now, and I can get a rebuilt 95 impy ss 4L60e for pretty cheap.
will the splines, tailhousings, lengths, electrical connectors, blah blah blah work out? Is the valvebody any different? What about the convertor, is it the same stall speed?
I want to keep it as close to stock as possible as this is for my fiancee.
Thanks

Well the tail housing is different and if I remember right the output shaft is a different diameter. Someone please correct if wrong.

You may have some issues in that the 95s use a PWM TCC solenoid and the 94s don't (at least on f-bodies). I would be reserved in saying it would be a direct swap.

The shaft for gear selection is also a longer length.
The bell housing side tabs are also different, but I think it's in your favor.
Not sure on that last one, one case has big tabs, the other is cut down.

I'm running a 96 z28 trany on my impy and the only part thats different is the tail housing. Both of them are PWM, you will know from the number of pins on the main harness connector.

While both use pulse width modulated lockup, the actual control strategy and internal parts are different, at least between the F-Body versions of the 95 and 96 trans.
