Who is running a TH350?

got myself a th350, getting ready to rebuild it with a transgo kit and a cheetah FMVB.

Wondering who is running one, and what youve got inside it?

Before anybody comes in here telling me a 4l60e would be faster....go F yourself, i have my reasons for switching. mainly a taller 1st and 2nd gear (th350 2.52, 1.52 vs 4l60e 3.08, 2.62), giving my tires more of a chance

I used to run one in my 94. LOVED the switch from A4 to the A3, it shifted when I told it to, one less variable to deal with. And the car picked up...
mine was just a rebuild with shift kit.

what shift kit? did it have the extra clutch that you needed to machine the direct drum? going to run a full manual valvebody, not sure which brand yet, probably w/e i can get for a good price.

I called the local guy and told him what I wanted and picked it up, I dont think it was anything real special b/c I gave him like $150 for it....he rebuilds them for $100ish all the time and all the racers run his stuff. So we have bought 4+ trans from him used in all kinds of stuff.

sorry I cant help ya with internal parts.....

That last line was AWESOME! I hate when people come into your thread and try to change your mind with babble.

I was thinking TH350 myself but the toughness added with the TH400 can't be beat. Unfortunately, it weighs a ton more!

I agree with the first line, I had people telling me the same stuff when I went to a 4L80E. Although I cant agree with the second line, there isnt as much difference as you think.

TH350 short tail - 125 lbs.
TH400 - 134 lbs.
4L80E - 178 lbs.
