Who makes a bolt in cromemoly DS?
Who makes a bolt in cromemoly DS?
I am currently running a Lingenfelter 3.5 inch DS, and I would like to upgrade to a moly shaft. I really dont want steel because of the extra weight. Does anyone make a bolt in piece for us? Also, I was wondering how strong the LPE shaft I have now is. How much power can reliably be put through it. I am making about 550 FWHP.

I ran a LPE 3.5" DS for the last several years with 580 rwhp...no problem! The only reason I switched was I needed a shorter DS for my Moser 9". I went with a Denny's steel DS.

Mark Williams makes chrome moly shafts to any length, in 3.0" and 3.5" diameters. 3.0" should be more than adequate for most applications. Mine weighed 19# with the billet TH400 yoke and solid 1350 u-joints.
A friend of mine broke his 3.5" LPE at the 750flywheelHP level, running it with a Street Twin and T56.

I just bought the bullet and got one of the best ones on the market today... Denny's Nitrous Ready shaft... I know it's currently running behind a few 1500+ hp Pro-Mod cars... not to mention if you ever break the shaft or welds, he'll build you a new one for free.
