Whine from short shifter install?

Hey, I just installed a pro 5.0 shifter on my 99 SS. I used rtv for the seal. I noticed that there is a noticeable whine when im third gear and its slighty audible in other gears.
I know there is suppose to be a increase in interior noise since the rubber bushing is eliminated, but does this sound normal i just had the tranny rebuilt and a new clutch installed 200 miles ago.
Thanks

Sounds normal. The one in my '99 SS (Pro 5.0) is kind of noisy, and so was the one in my '02 Z28 (B&M Ripper).

All manual tranny whine. The more power they will hold, the more noise they make.
