Gear light?

Is there any way to wire up a light/lights so you know what gear your in. I have a stock A4 4L60E transmission and im going to build a custom center console, getting rid of the stock gear selector display. So I would like something in the guage cluster or somewhere else that tells me what gear im in like PRND321. I would also like it to display what gear im in when in drive, so like when the auto shifts, it will display what gear it is. Weather it be 1,2,3 or 4.

I want to eventually swap in a 6L80E A6 into it, so it would have to work for that too. That way i could comfortably run 4.10's or higher in the rear.

Also does anybody know anything about the 6L80E, like how much hp it will hold. Its in the new vette, so it looks like at least 400hp. Does it have any weaknesses.

Re: Gear light?

I believe it indicates the selector lever position. You could ask Dakota Digital to verify.
