when disengaged street twin w/ adj master grinds

Hey all...just messing around with my new street twin and I was looking to lower the pedal closer to the floor. In order to do this i read the 9/16 bolt had to be loosened and then the rod had to be turned clockwise (torward the passenger side) 1 or 2 turns at a time. I did this, but when i press the clutch all the way in i hear a grinding sound....so I back out the rod (counter clockwise) and the grinding goes away when I press the clutch all the way down.....did i reach the limit of my adjustment? I feel the clutch is engagging at the top and should be lower, closer to the center. Any ideas?

Keep it in the area where it dosent make any noise. New clutches grab high. Waite till its broken in.
