what would cause an extremly hard shift??
Re: what would cause an extremly hard shift??
its probly the pressure in the lines are too high. check your epc solenoid. (i think its called epc it stands for electronic pressure control) Mine was dead and caused the pressure to be to high and resulted in the same symptoms.

A bad connection at the EPC solenoid, or a bad wire will cause high pressure. Max line pressure is part of "fail safe" for the 4L60E. When the EPC solenoid sees 0 voltage, it goes to max line pressure.
