what would cause an extremly hard shift??

what would cause an extremly hard shift??

yeah...what the title says. mostly from 1st to 2nd but even from park to drive it blasts into gear.

Idle set too high - or increased line pressure cause of a code?

theres no code and it was rebuilt about a year ago...i dont beat on it at all.

its probly the pressure in the lines are too high. check your epc solenoid. (i think its called epc it stands for electronic pressure control) Mine was dead and caused the pressure to be to high and resulted in the same symptoms.

A bad connection at the EPC solenoid, or a bad wire will cause high pressure. Max line pressure is part of "fail safe" for the 4L60E. When the EPC solenoid sees 0 voltage, it goes to max line pressure.

which one is the EPC solenoid...i think i saw 2 on the bottom near the pan when i was takin it down last year.

The EPC solenoid is the large round one, on the passenger side of the valve body.
