rear end?

What rear end would come in a stock 94 z28 manual trans.? 3.42 is what I heard but im not sure.

also, im curious about how to tell what kind of rearend you have...
something about going like 76 mph in 3rd or either 4th gear and reading the rpms or something.
thanks

Re: rear end?

All 1994 and later M6 cars left the factory with 3.42 rear axle ration. Only the 1993's had 2.73's and 3.23's depening on which T56 was used (wide ratio or close ratio).

At 76mph, with stock tire diameter, and 3.42 gears:

2nd - 6,075 rpm
3rd - 4,437 rpm
4th - 3,413 rpm (divide by 1000 for approx gear ratio)
5th - 2,525 rpm
6th - 1,706 rpm
