I am having trouble figuring which trans fluid to use in my t-56. I just did the swap from an automatic and was wondering if you guys have any recommendations on which fluid would be best? Thanks.

I have used gear oil in every manual I have owned.

 

So how many manual cars have you owned and swapped tranny fluid in since 2000 when you started working on cars? Good thing your z is an auto...

The T56 does in fact take ATF per the manufacturer's recomendation.

Nice to see you visited the site. I did however work at my dads dealer and every truck/car we sold we put gear oil in. My brother is the mechanic and used gear oil in the SC stang you see on the 3rd page of my site. He ran gear oil in his stock t5 for 35k. The manual says many things you probably dont do. I dont use the reckomended engine oil do you? Its realy nothing new. Do what you want, it has done us well.

What four years is not enough to know what I’m talking about a bit? Put gear oil in both the t56 camaros on my site also my truck. I will graduate college under 4 years. I built my car myself.

if you put gear oil in a T-56 you blow the syncro's right out of it. So yes it is ATF III

 

In the old manual transmissions you needed to put in gear oil, but with today's transmissions you need to put ATF in it. It has better oiling capabilities. But ya, Dextron 3 is what I use.

 

Best oil I have every used in my t56, is Royal Purple Synchromax....You will love it!

Where is my Opti you told me you'd send out two weeks ago Nick??? You were sent and accepted my $100 for it on the 30th of April, I have paypal reciepts to prove it. I want my part. Ive sent you emails and am currently getting your personal information from an investigator, Either give me my $100 back, or send out my part. You have yet to respond. Just so everyone is aware. The opti has been sent out to this person and because he is impatient he is now going around trying to bad mouth me. Here is the tracking number :1Z12A6R70341528938. The opti was shipped out about 5 days after the deal was done. It is scheduled to be delivered by May 12th. If any of the moderators see this continual bad mouthing I would ask that they would please look into this matter and delete any of this persons messages that are trying to damage my character and standings on this board. Thank you.

 

Wanting an item after it was paid in full doesn't sound like impatience to me, sounds like he wants what he paid for, why the five day delay? =/.

 

Don't concern yourself with issues that have nothing to do with you. Everybodies lives don't revolve around this board. This is a great board to be a part of, but if people like Derek are going to be allowed to make slanderous comments without having any knowledge, than I will find somewhere else to go. The delay was due to the fact that deal happened late on Friday and I didn't get a chance to send it out until the next week. Not 2 weeks. Yet again another uniformed individual putting in there two cents where it is not needed.

 

I would just like to appologize to Nick for the quick assumptions of a scam here. The reason I jumped the gun so quickly is due to the fact that the money was accepted that Friday, and I was not contaced on the Monday I believed I would be contacted on about the tracking number. Then after getting back this weekend, a week and a half after receiving my payment, the number to Nick was disconnected or something and I received no response to any emails. That is not jumping any guns in my book due to the clear signs of a scam.
I can however say that Nick is a man of his word as he finally contaced me and got me my tracking number. Things do happen, with so many people being scammed on this site and all over the net, it is not that unreasonable to jump it so quickly. People earn thier money in most cases the hard way, working. As do I. And while that money could easily be replaced..that $100 has more meaning when it is 'donated' to a crook instead of being used for a purchase.
To Nick Bryan, thank you for the response and I understand things happen and things are straightened out now and I appologize and I would do business with you in the future as you do hold to your word like you said. With all of the places to make foes I would not expect to make any here on this great site.
