what t56 clutches are the best
I want a hurst shifter for my 6 speed SS and want to put a good clutch like a Spec stage IV in my car. However I am a little hessatant. What is the best way to go, meaning best bang for your buck and is installing a big project like well those pain in the butt spark plugs. any information and advice would most helpfull thanks.

well the spec 4 is the best bang for your buck if you have a mild car like 400-500hp.
anything above that your probably better off getting the mcleod street twin upfront rather than going through 2-3 spec's. less down time changing clutches.
i've got an autozone clutch in mine right now. it was like $260-300 lifetime warrenty but if i rag on the car it will start slipping in one month. what good is a lifetime warrenty if i'm pulling out the clutch every other month?!
it's time for me to upgrade. this year my goal is 400hp, within the next few years i want to do a 700-800hp turbo motor. so i should save my pennies because i'll need the twin within a few years, and that's one less thing i'll have to worry about later.
be warned though, the stronger the clutch the harder you are on the rearend. so if you still got that 7.5 10 bolt you better think about which you want to go first your rear or the clutch....
imo

I'm partial to the street twin clutch. I love the pedal feel and the holding power is incredible. I personally do not know anyone that has had slipping problems w/ that clutch.

Ina ll honesty, i thinkt he Street Twina nd the spec iv would be over kill for your car. The spec iv clutch your anting to get is moe of a tack only clutch. It does not like to be slipped at all. Just like the Spec iv clutch, the street twin is the same way except a little more forgiving but the cost versus what kind of hp your putting down doesnt match up. If it were me I would put in a spec 2 or 3 or even better yet, if your car is stillpretty much stick, go get a zo6 clutch from gm and leav it at that. It will more tan hold up to the power your putting down.
