I've always heard 2800-3200 with lockup, of course.

I would NOT get anything smaller than a 3500 for an LS1.

lock-up means there is a clutch inside the converter that fully LOCKS to the flexplate when the TCC solenoid is activated by the PCM or by a manual switch. this eliminates the slippage of the tranny through the converter for improved fuel efficiency during highway cruising. you can also use it to pick up an extra tenth at the track if you have a manual switch setup and you lock it at the right time. 4L60E equipped f-bodies all have a lock-up TC from the factory.Ever accelerated to around 45 mph or higher and felt what you thought was 4 shifts instead of 3? that last one is actually the torqu converter locking and dropping the revs a little.

Re: What Rpm Stall To Get ?

if you're going to remain N/A and you want the lowest strip times, a 4200 stall isnt bad... it'll sound wierd as you drive around, and you'll want a extra trans cooler, but i know guys who put 20k miles a year on their cars running like that for almost 2 years now... reliablity isnt a issue, and high 11s are possible with slicks.

if you plan to spray at all, i would suggest a slightly lower stall... unless you're doing other valvetrain mods and plan to raise the rev limiter.
