What is going on with my trans?

I have a 2000 z/28 A4, with a B&M stage 2 shift kit. I have had the kit in for about a year and never had any problems. Well last week I went to put the pedal to the floor and something didn't feel right. My car will go from 0-30 slower than normal and then when it kicks into second everything is normal. When i press the gas from a dead stop it feels like the pedal is being pushed back at me (kinda like when traction control is on, and your wheels a slipping). I'm going to take it to the shop later this week, but i thought you guys could help me try to figure it out before that. (sorry if it doesn't make sense I'm running on like 3 hours of sleep)

Also when i floor it, it redlines in first and i have to let off the gas for it to shift.

Man...This is a tough one to diagnose without the car in front of me. I can't see anything in the transmission causing your gas pedal to pulse, though.

Try taking the relay out of your fuse box for the traction control. Drive the car without it, and see if it still acts the same way. Remember, you'll have an SES light come on. It sounds like a malfunction in the traction control to me.

That sounds like the trans is slipping... Mine went out the same way 4 yrs ago. For your first issue, is it revving unusually high before it goes into 2nd? Is it changing into 2nd really hard because of this? That might cause your traction control to kick in once it shifts to 2nd. Could you clarify - is your low-traction light going on when it happens?

I was saying that your SES light will come on if you pull the realy out. The slip you're feeling may indeed be that the 2-4 band (in the transmission) isn't holding.

Yeah it revs really high in first gear...and for the hard shift in to 2nd, it was always a harder shift than normal because of the shift kit that was in there. And my traction light does go on but it will chirp the tires and then the light will go on.. but it always did that before, if the asr was on
