What gears/stall do I need with my stroker/nitrous beast???

I am building a pretty nasty T/A right now.
Here are the basics:
solid roller 383 LT4 motor
300-350 direct port NX shot
Th-350 tranny
KTRE 12-bolt rear
28' drag slicks

I will occasionally drive this on the street (to car shows, to work and just cruise), but I want it to be a beast on the 1/4 track.

I have a 3500 stall in the tranny right now and I was thinking of going with 3.73 gears. Does that sound pretty well, or do I need more stall and less gearing?

Hi,

Almost done with something like that and''ocasinally'' in
your post is the key.
If your city driving and no long streches, gearings good
with no OD. Also helps with 3500 stall.

I'm running 3.27 and 3000 stall with 502HP-383 on
motor and going with 200HP NX wet kit. Show car here
also,Ocassionally street,no work car. Open road a factor
and I'm running B&M 700R4 Edge lockup converter.

Your from Texas, and alot of open streches out there if
thats in the game plan.
If you want a 1/4 mile "Beast", you can't compromize.
All around is what flips my chip.
Hope this helps
Later

Depends on what sort of trap speeds you're looking at, what the redline is on the engine, how much converter slip you see and how much tire growth. You need to be geared to reach the trap speed based on the engine's total HP, an how much the car weighs. Without all that info, its difficult to select the correct gear ratio. What MPH do you think it will run? What is the redline?
