What diameter driveshaft

What diameter driveshaft are you guys running with 12-bolts and 9" rearends. I'm about to buy a strange 12-bolt and want to upgrade my DS along with a number of other things. Since i installed the S-trim every time i drive it the rearend gets louder. thanks

i guess a 3.5" is overkill then. Whats the advantage of chrome moly over DOM steel. The guy said the DOM steel 3" is rated at 1200hp, but is it heaver or what? Its also $300 and i'm guessing chrome moly run more? thanks

chrome moly is stronger than normal DOM steel so you can use a thinner wall thickness and still have the same strength, ie: lighter piece. I don't know if they use a thinner wall thickness or not but it will be stronger for sure.

A buddy of mine ran the Mark Williams 3" chrome moly DS in his 1,350HP 30th SS (not an LT1 block), running low 8's.
