VSS Question?

I swapped an auto for my six speed and am now trying to get my speedo to work in the 700r4. I tried buying the wiring harness for the 700r4 and splicing in to the the VSS wires from the six speed. But that didn't work and soon found out that the six speed is direct drive and the auto uses a magnet and it is gear driven. So nothing worked and here I am. I am hoping the people who have done this auto conversion have the answer. thank you in advance

Have you considered posting this on the new "Drivetrain" forum.

Moving it there......

Are you using the reluctor and VSS in the 700r4? The M6 uses the same type of thing a VSS and a reluctor, however the reluctor in the M6 is 17 tooth and in the 700r4 its 40 tooth. So you can just go ahead and splice the VSS from the 700r4 into wiring harness of the M6 but you then need to reprogram the pcm and tell it that you have a 40 tooth reluctor instead of the 17. I used TunerCat to do this and it was very easy...

I have it spliced in and when I am going like 70 it says I am going 9 MPH. So all I have to do is reprogram the computer.
