Vigilante Converters

I was getting ready to order a 3600 stall Precision Industries converter and I noticed that there are a few different options, a single disk, a 3-disk, and a 5-disk style. Is this related in terms of overall strength of the converter? I am planning on having my trans. rebuilt soon due to its age and the fact that is slipping at times so naturally I plan on upgrading the converter as well. My future plans for the motor are undecided, but I am guessing it will be around 370-400rwhp N/A and a 150 shot on top of that. If I don't have to go the 5-disk option, that would be great considering that converter is hitting almost a grand. As always, thanks for any help and suggestions offered.

Re: Vigilante Converters

The multi disc versions are for high powered motors and where it's prefered to have lockup during the race. The single disc version is stout enough for your setup. Better call PI to get all the info.

I have a single disk 3600 and have used it since 1996 and its been flawless. I did freshen it this year when I built the trans. Vicki at PI said that the converter was in fantastic shape and couldn't believe how old it was..You should be fine with a single disk...and it just pulled several 1.55 60's...
