hey guys, ive searched but didnt come up with anything, im gonna be swapping out the 3.8L in my 95 camaro for an LT1, i was just checking if the tranny wiring etc. was the same. its an auto now, and i have to swap it cuz the bolt pattern is different. just wondering if i can just drop it in, or if theres something different on the v8 4L60E?

 

yeh you would need the v8 4l60e..the gear ratio is way different in the v8 compared to the v6..you would need the lt1 wiring harnest..

 

Your going to need the v8 version wiring harness and ecm to match the model year of your transmission,
the trans because the bell is different.
the harness because its different at the engine for the 3.8 than the v6 though the trans electronics as long as in the same year range are compatible .
And the ecm for obvious reasons will need to match the engine and transmission year range

 

car is a 95, tranny came from a 95 so, ill need:

- v8 tranny 4l60e
- engine to tranny v8 version wiring?
- v8 ecm for the tranny

anything else?

 

other than some nick nacks should do it
