In '96 GM changed the 3-2 control arrangement in the 4L60E. The '96-up units use a different 3-2 valve and 3-2 down solenoid. We've seen people swap the solenoids, but it sometimes causes some strange 2-3 upshift issues after a forced downshift.

Were gonna attempt the solenoid swap will it be a definite 2-3 up shift problem on forced downshift or or a possible the trans has a stg 2 trans go with the manual shift it that matters.
