Turbo 400 trouble!!

Hey everyone I need help. Just rebuilt thm 400 with hughes performance kit and added shift kit and 3700-4100 stall tsi converter. Car launches hard and works great in first gear Shifts hard into second then it seems like im losing power from 3400-4000 rpms it shifts perfect into third gear then once again same feeling of losing power. Is this related to my high stall converter or can it be something else. When i say losing power Im not saying that the transmission is slipping this is a different feeling. Feels almost like motor is working very hard to make rpm's rise its not just slipping. while this is taking place car is still pulling hard but i know its got more. Im not using my nitrous at this point. what does everyone think?? Is it converter, hughes rebuild kit or just maybe i dont have enough power being put to the converter to make it work right???

Sounds like a "tie up". This means something in the transmission is coming on, or not going off when it's supposed to. A crossleak or a clearance issue can cause this.

Not sure here but I wounder if the converter might be a bit much for your car or not a very efficient one. With a 400 every time another shift occurs another clutch comes on. I doubt that a tie up is happening but I could be wrong. I have seen where to high of a stall converter will actually make the car feel like it is laying down. Just a thought. Vince

Nitrous helps!!!!!

Hey everyone I thought i would test the not enough power question with a little bit of nitrous. Car launched awesome slammed into second pulled hard shifted into third and then i shut it down. I noticed i hardly felt any power loss at all. So what does this mean?? Torque converter to loose?
