turbo 400 swap

any benefits from swapping to a t400 with a transbrake from a built 4l60e with the best of everything? for those of u that have done this swap, did u run any faster at track? my 4l60 has went a best of 10.44 and trying to squeeze as much as i can from the car and i have a turbo 400 with brake just begging to go in something. any suggestions?

Swapped from a T56 to the TH400. When looking at the 4L60E, the TH400 has a 2.48:1 1st gear, vs a 3.06 for the 4L60E, unless you have first gear changed out in the TH400.

What do you feel the disadvantage is with your 4L60E, which is obviously taking a beating and lovin' it? Just the lack of a trans brake?

well i have the turbo 400 just sitting here, and yes the transbrake would be nice, but when the 4l60e gets up to around 190 to 200 degrees it feels like i put my foot on the brake, it stops the car at an idle, give it some gas and it will move. sat nite i went to load it in trailer after 5 passes in an hour going up the ramp of the trailer at idle car stops. and only when the tranny is warm. its been doing it since before the shootout but one of these times something's gonna give. when it does it on a incline like the ramp if i shut the car off it will roll fowards or backwards.

im just thinking of the future. i love having od but if alot of performance is to be had with swappimg im game for it. the car has 3.73' s in now guess i could always switch em out to some 3.55s or something i just want to hear some input before i do something i regret

The Gear Vendors unit can solve the O/D problem, but its expensive and adds an awful lot of weight... ~50#... and it still only a 0.78 O/D, vs 0.70 for the 4L60E.
