Turbo 350?
Turbo 350?
I have a 94 a4z and have been through 2 trannys one stock the other supposedley(not sure i spelled that right) built niether has held up.A good friend of mine has a turbo 350 he had built for his truck. The truck build never came through so he wants to sell it.My question is this what would i need to do for it to go in my car.Its a 9 inch tail shaft so it will bolt in but thats about the extent of what i know. What else is involved. And is it going to cost me out the but?
Have the 4L60E built by someone who knows what they're doing. you'll be much happier with an A4 in a street car.
Fortunately, you've found the best 4L60E builder in the country...Just click on the link below. We can build you a 4L60e that will certainly hold up in your vehicle...Even if you plan on taking it in the 9's.
As for the 350 you asked about? Where are you going to mount your torque arm? How are you going to fabricate your mount location? Yes, we offer "bolt in" TH350's for 4th gens...ONLY because the need for a manual valve body or a transbrake. There's No need to use a 350 unless you need one of them. A 350 is no stronger than a PROPERLY built 4L60E. to properly adapt a 350 to a 4th gen, you need to buy a Fitz-All kit. This kit includes a new output shaft, conversion block, dipstick tube, etc. The puts the mount in the correct location, and allows use of the factory speedo, and torque arm. The transmission has to be diasassembled to install the output shaft, though.
We have constant calls from customers who have had their 4L60E's built 5, 6, and 7 times, before they've found us. Many have been rebuilt by others who advertise on this board.
Thanks,
Frank

Thanks Frank,I spoke to you about a rebuild earlier in the year, but a friend was doing an M6 swap so he said if i helped he would give me his built one.Turned out it was stock 2/3 went out about a month later. My dad had it built for me as a b-day gift by a local guy I tried to get him to send it to you but hes old fashioned and thinks everything on the net is scam and i didnt have any levarage to argue considering he was puting up the dough for the build. That went bad on a hard launch. The thing is the car is bone stock short of 4-10's a gutted car and a flowmaster muffler and im not that hard on the car.So now im back in the same boat, my money is tight now and ive got to look at youre site agian and get the cost and check shipping prices but hopefully after christmas i can get it out to you. Then only the rest of the car will give me problems.....lol!
Yup...I remember our conversations. Sorry to hear things didn't work out with the last rebuild. Unfortunately, we hear this way too often.
Maybe you could've had your dad call me. If I had the opportunity to explain things to him, it may have helped.
Thanks,
Frank

What Frank is telling is true that a 4l60e can be built to handel some go hp #'s. Being the best in the country is a whole different issue and can be argued. IMO nobody is the best. He has a good reputation and I'm sure if you go with them things will be ok. Vince
