trouble codes and how to fix?

Just scanned my car and I'm getting these codes. I just did obd1 conversion.

Malf 97 4000 ppm vsss circuit fault
Malf 82 Shift A Soloniod Fault

This is the discription for code 82 1-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Fault "1-2 shift solenoid is commanded ON by PCM but circuit voltage is high for two seconds
OR
1-2 shift solenoid is commanded OFF by PCM but circuit voltage is low for two seconds" "*Maximum line pressure
*Second or third gear only
OR
*First and fourth gears only"

How do you fix this? and the other code?

Re: trouble codes and how to fix?

VSS is the speed sensor on the tailshaft of the tranny. It's either disconnected, has a bad wire, or the sensor is deceased.

I'll let someone else take care of the tranny problem. This should be in "Drivetrain", so I'll move it there.

Re: trouble codes and how to fix?

I replaced to VSS sensor, but I have not scanned the can since then. Now with the other code can I replace only the 1-2 solenoid or do I have to change both 1-2 and 2-3?

can either of these be realted to my ignition fuse blowing all the time?

Ok, jst scanned the car again and after replacing the VSS sensor it's still throwing codes.

Ok, if the 1-2 shift solenoid is bad will it cause the tranny to shift werd or hard ?
