Transmission woes.....

Last night, I was coaxed into doing a "little" burn out when I had left from picking up my girlfriends' daughter. After about 80 ft. and much smoke and two nice stripes , .I let off the gas and rolled out the rest of the way to the stop sign. I shifted from 1st into OD. When I left from the stop sign, I no longer had 1st gear. I can get first gear if the selector is in 1st, but that is the only way! To make things worse, I turned onto I-43 southbound and accelerated "quickly" and I had no OD . I had to drive from Greenbay to Germantown( just north of Milwuakee) in third or Drive. It was a long and very loud ride with the engine turning 3200 rpm all the way!!!
I'll break out the GM service manual and begin looking but I am open to suggestions... any help is appreciated.
A little info on setup:
Stock 10-bolt 3.23 gears
stock 4l60e w/ shift kit
Edge racing converter 3400 rpm stall
tranny cooler
PCM for less tune

I wish..... I am the unluckiest person in the world, well, when it comes to good luck at least. Unfortunately mine wasn't that simple.... I 'll get into it tomorrow

Well, I got it fixed, sort of. Like you said turn the car off, but when I initially did that, it did not work. I changed the fluid and filter and it was fine. The fluid seemed to be good. It was still more pink than burnt. Not sure what happened, but I will try to get some sort of an answer to this.
