Transmission Shifting Problem!

My car hits the rev limiter about 1-4 times before shifting about a 1/3 of the time. I have a 94 z28 with an automatic trans. Any Ideas?

A lot of time this happens before the tranny blows, but if you have changed the TC to somthing higher then a 3200 stall then that could be the problem also.. But reading your mods and that you didn't mention it, then I say your tranny is on it's last legs.. I have heard a few say that it lasted as much as 2 months when it started doing what you are refering too, and also heard some guys say that it only lasted a few weeks, not trying to scare you just preparing you for the facts that the factory 4l60e sucks!!

Re: Transmission Shifting Problem!

As John said...This is usually a sign of the clutches losing their ability to hold properly at higher RPM's.
