transmission question

Question transmission question

Second gear went out in my 94 z28 and i was wondering if anyone knows if i can put a 4l60 out of a 97 firebird in it??

there are a few electronic controls that are different, but everything else inside is the same, if your electriniics are good and you know a little and can get in there to change it then yes it will work.

are all the electronics external or would i have to change some things internally to make it work?

I need to double check but you may have to change the conector and the electronic controls on the valve body.. Let me look for the exact differences in those years...

The '97 is a PWM (Pulse Width Modulated) lock-up transmission... The '94 is not. The electrical hookups in the case are different also, and that would be the hardest part to change over.

All said and done I don't think this should be attempted...
