Transmission help.

Ok so i want to start be saying i have done lot or research on this and just dont know where to go with it.

The problem:
I have a 94 Camaro z28 Stock. It seems to be in "Limp Home Mode" I have 3rd gear when in Drive or Overdrive and 2nd with a manual shift. Thats it. I have pluged in the car to my laptop and checked for codes with the key in the on position i do not get any codes at all. Once car is turned on and running for about 30 -45 secs codes 84 "3-2 Control Solenoid Circuit Fault" pops up. This will stay on. Once i shift the car into gear i get codes 81 "2-3 Shift Solenoid Circuit Fault" and 82 "1-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Fault". These are the only codes i am getting. What should my plan of action be from this point?

Hmmmm u know what's odd, when my 4l602 went out I didn't get any codes, and r u sure that u don't have 2nd and drive? With no tcc assisit? Cause that's what my car did when my trans took a dump. I had estimates on a rebuild and the price of a new tranny from chevrolet, none of em could touch art carr out of abelene tx I got a killer tranny througfh them, and my car had the performance shift button in it too, I told em what I had, what I was going to do and how much hp I was planning on putting down, and how I was going to do it. Shipping and all about 1200 maybe a little more. If u can find a tranny rebuild with corvette servos, a stall converter, with an anti ballooning plate, modified shift pressure and an aftermarket aluminum pan with bolts for install, u let me know, oh they didn't ev en charge me a core, so I made an extra 100$ by selling my junk case to a local tranny shop for their core stock. Yeah I coulda got more, but I was happy. And they even let me pay for the tranny over a 3 week period, it was xmas time and I spoil my kid lol.

If this has been happening since the rebuild bring it back to the rebuilder. Usually when solenoid codes are set the solenoid is bad or there is a wiring fault.

Nice bit of info to leave out lol, yeah that changes everything. Have you brought it back to the shop? How long has it been since the rebuild? I simply ask because a lot of shops will say it's unrelated or customer caused it after a few days, or weeks. The bad shops mind u, did u get a warranty? Either way I would bring it back to them, depending on the answers to the questions above u may have to get very serious with them, but if they're reputable and it hasn't been to long, or it's still under warranty u should be fine. That makes the question easy for us, not so easy for u

Hey just another quick bit of info, code 82 is 1-2 shift solenoid circuitry is faulty, but it also can mean that there's no 3X reference pulses detected by the ecm/pcm. Just an fyi, doubt it helps here. Good luck with the shop.

This doesn't belong on "LT1 Based Engine Tech". Lets move it to "Drivetrain" where it belongs.

Please close this post. Problem has been solved. It was a broken pin on the transmission plug. Thanks for all input and info with this issue. Sorry for posting in the wrong spot.

We don't close threads when a problem has been solved.

Posting on the wrong forum is not unusal for newbies, and not really a problem. Its the members with 3,000 posts who refuse to post on the correct forum who are a problem.
