Transmission Cooler Mounting

I know everone mounts the cooler to the AC condensor but I've heard those zip-tie things can eventually end up cutting through the radiator fins. I'm planning on a few very long trips with this car and don't want to worry about that so i want to mount it somewhere else. I'm finishing up my engine swap and am mounting up the trans cooler tomorrow. I was under there earlier and don't see any where else beside the condensor to mount it. Where have others mounted their cooler? Any pictures?

In front of the radiator is really one of the only places for adequate air flow.

Re: Transmission Cooler Mounting

Maybe i'll feel ambitious tomorrow and take the radiator back out and mount it just to the condensor so I don't have to worry about it cutting through the radiator tubes later down the road. I've had it zip-tied through the radiator on another car and had no problems in the 5k miles i put on it afterwards.

I have a feeling I won't want to do that though. We'll see.

Anyone know of a local place that i can buy those zip ties from. I got the big B&M cooler that didn't come with any hardware.

Napa carries them, I've bought several sets from them.

You pass zip ties through the radiator fins? Anyone have pics of this? Sounds odd to me...

I mounted my B&M cooler on the passenger side, cutting a square in the black panel that faces the ground....

Just had to beef up the plastic with a metal frame to support the cooler...

Napa had it and for half the price summit sells it for. I ended up removing the condensor and mounting it on that seperately, my paranoia got the best of me.

I took a few pictures to show what the zip ties are like.

Bad location. The cooler should be mounted directly to the radiator. Yours only cools when your moving down the road. You need the cooling fan to actually pull air through the cooler when the car is stopped (in traffic), when the converter is generating the most heat.
