Transmission cooler

I have a 97Z I want to put a transmission cooler on it but don't want to put in in front of the rad or between the rad and the condeser. I could swear I saw some body put it in the front of the pasanger side fender well?
So my question is can I do this will it work and what brand size cooler do I need.

Thanks,

Chris

you must have good airflow to cool the fluid(such as in front of the radiator) i would shy away from putting it anywhere else.

on thing to look for on the cooler is one that is a straightflow design. not one designed like a radiator. if you look at the 2 styles youll see what i mean. one has small tanks on either side, then has the tubes runnung between them(this is not good). the one i like is a single tube that zigzags and does not have the tanks. the reason i dont like these takes is it make it next to impossible to clean. sediment settles in the tankes then will break lose and tranny dies. also do not run the fluid through the stock cooler(radiator) becouse of the same reason.

this way if you ever do grenade your tranny you can clean the cooler and be safe.

my 02, learned from experiance.
