Re: Transmission

well could be front seal, servo cover seal, speed sensor seal, shift lever seal, tailshaft housing seal, rear seal, front pump seal, too much pressure pushing out the vent tube, if it was vacumm modulated it could be burning the fluid, pan seal, gvernor seal if its not electronic, that should sum up the most of it.......maybe you might want to be more specific

Exclamation Re: Transmission

Please forgive my english grammar. But primary language is the spanish. The problem was that I was driving the car and i started smelling something like oil. that made me stop the car and see what was happening. then i realized that the car had trown away ALL the transmission fluid. hope you understand me better.

Re: Transmission

If you lost all your transmission fluid, the car wouldn't move if it's an automatic. If you overfill the tranny, it will pour out the vent tube on the top of the tranny and make a mess. Does the car still move? Have you checked the tranny fluid level on the dipstick (again assuming you have an auto)?

yes, the car moves but, the transmission oil dipstick was empty. the car is an auto. and i didn't overfill the tranny because i haven't put oil in there.

and it's curious that this happened because i haven't abused of the car, i was driving it normally.

Re: Transmission

Predator posted above a pretty complete list of sources for the fluid leak. Best thing to do it crawl under and start looking for the source.

Re: Transmission

Could just be a leak in a cooling line or anywhere else that can leak.

Re: Transmission

Could be the front seal. How many miles are on the car? Go look for the leak.
