i have a good 700r4 laying around...i also have a 94 camaro z28 with a friend 34 clutch pack...is there any way to take the electronics out of my 4l60e and put in the 700r4 to get me by for a few months??? if so is there a writeup or somebody help me out???


my next question is what will happen if i put a 700 in my car and leave the electronics for the transmission unhooked...the 700r4 is out of a 88 iroc

You can't just put the 60e stuff into the 700 it won't work, and I doubt you will find a writeup on anyone attempting to do it. the 700 would work but you would need to do a lot of little things to get it to work properly and it wouldn't be a cheep throw in for the time being thing. save the money you would spend getting the 700 set up to have the 60e rebuilt...

 

You'd need a '93 throttle body, since the '94 - up have no provisions for a TV cable. You'll also need the TV cable bracket off a '93, as well as a f-Body specific TV cable. Wiring the TCC to function properly would be your biggest obsticle. The vehicle harness where it attatches to the transmission is obviously different, so you'd have to cut and splice wires to make it work.

In other words...it's more of a PITA than it's worth.
