Transmision Dianosis please

Hello, I have a 1997 pontiac T/A with a M-6 6 speed transmissions. I was reading the Haynes manual the other day in a study hall and i came across a torubleshooting add. "Noise is Nuetral Geear" So i read it and it said may be casused by bad input shaft bearing. I have a strange noise. with my expierece with bearings it sounds like a failing bearing. If i put the car into nutrtal in my garage and rev it it gets louder, but after like 2500 it doenst get any louder. and in nuetral at idle it just rumbles a little bit almost like a bad t/o bearing but i read on a previos tthread that these t/o bearing make alot of noise even brand new...

Thanks

Re: Transmision Dianosis please

i have this problem on my 2001 trans am. the throwout bearing is gone and the input is also possibly faulty. So i'm buying clutch/flywheel, throwout bearing, everything for a clutch installation so I don't have to go in there again anytime soon. Does your car drive funny? Mine is sooooo noisy and has a loss of performance. The clutch is getting bad.
