Wondering what is needed to swap in a 96 4l60e from a impala as into my 94 z28? Is it a worth the hassle? I think I have to change the tailhousing and something about a tcc mod?

 

Your '94 is a non PWM unit. The '96 has an extra (PWM) solenoid as well as different resistance on the 3-2 downshift solenoid. The pumps, valvebodies, plates, and wiring are all different between these 2 units. Simply disabling the PWM as some suggest will only lead to problems later. I've never seen this swap done without causing converter clutch and/or transmission damage.
