Car will not move, 4L60E

Hey everyone,

Last Sunday, I went to back my car out of the barn and it seemed like the car did not want to move. It would back up but very slowly, it seemed like something was "slipping". I then heard a grinding/clunking noise from the transmission and I put it in park. I went ahead and put in back in reverse and got nothing. I put it in drive. Nothing. In any gear, the car won't move, it acts like its in park or neutral. I don't hear any strange noises either coming from the transmission area anymore. Any ideas what this might sounds like or where to start looking? Car was fine when I parked it last. The transmission is 2 years old, PATC rebuild kit, new torque converter at the time.

Thanks!

Rob

Have you checked the fluid?

Checking the fluid is a good place to start but if you had looked into it first you would not have found any good honest long term reviews on PATC.

A grind and clunk sounds like hard parts failure. Find someone competent and use a good parts supplier this time.

I agree on probable hard part failure

I'm guessing low fluid. I only say that because it worked when you parked it.

Hi Frank,

I checked the fluid and it's fine. What is your thought of a bad solenoid being the culprit?

Thanks,

Rob

Unfortunately, there's no solenoids that will cause it not to move.
