Trans Slipping! A-4

Well i bought the car knowing that it would start slipping once it heated up. "sitting in traffic" ETC... And thats exactly the case, the car runs cold like the thermostat has been removed, but once it heats up after sitting it will start to slip. do you guys think this is maybe a rebuild issue? the car has 192k miles. what are my first steps to getting this problem solved? thanks!

Well I would put a thermostat in and that is solved, As for the trans with 192000 miles is probably just tired and worn , You will need to either rebuild or replace the unit, Please feel free to look at what we have to offer or give us a call

What condition is your fluid in? Does it appear dark? Is it discolored? Does it smell burnt?
Remember, transmission fluid is like motor oil. It thins as it gets hotter. You may have enough pressure with cold fluid to apply a clutch pack, but as it gets hotter, it may not be capable of it.
Does it slip in everything? The first signs of a cracked forard piston is slipping forward, but reverse is ok. If it slips in everything, you may be looking at a pump issue.
Let me know if I can help you any further. 302-250-1202
