Trans Problem?
I just bought this car and noticed that while driving there seems to be some resistance that to me anyway could be a problem. Its an automatic and the best way to describe what I feel while driving is like when you drive in a lower gear and push pasts its speed threshold and then let off the gas you have that drag feeling while its slowing down. Its not quite that intense but it is there, now I am not a mechanic of course or I wouldnt be asking about this but this car does supossedly have a shift kit and was wondering if that might be normal with this mod installed?

This sounds like a "tie up" in the transmission. This means that 2 components are applied at the same time that aren't supposed to be. What condition is the fluid in? Does it smell burnt? Is it brown or black, instead of red?

If you are putting it in the "2" position, and feel that the vehicle is slowing down faster than what you perceive as normal, it is most likely the braking action of the overrun setup, which is normal. If it is more than this, then the "tieup" that Frank is talking about might be happening.

It sounds like he's saying the problem is just while driving, not decelerating
. Maybe it could be that your car is an A4 w/3.42's, which are leaning towards a "lower" ratio for an automatic than say, 2.73's, or even 3.23's. Maybe it seems that you have to give the car a lot more gas to get going (more gas than you'd expect) but because of the low gearing, it forces the engine to have to "scream" a little bit just to do average speeds, but then to you it feels like the car is "dragging" a little?? 
...is that the type of problem you're describing??
'Cause lower ratios (and possibly a stall converter you're unaware of??
) could contribute to that "lazy" feel in the car, even though there's technically nothing WRONG with it
