Trans coolers

I am getting ready to put a new performabuilt trans in and have a question about coolers. I know they come with a cooler and I have heard that some people use both the radiator cooler and the external. I am just worried it will run hot in stop and go traffic with the external alone. Any idea's would be helpful. I would like to get the parts in before I have it installed. Thanks in advance.

I use both the radiator cooler and a external stacked plate cooler. I haven't had any problems.

Use both. The more you can cool the fluid, the better. Stall converters create a lot of heat.

This is the cooler I use.

Since my car was originally an M6, the radiator does not have a tranny cooler. I use a
Perma-Cool fan assisted cooler, and have had no problems at all with the tranny overheating. Very loose, non-locking converter on a TH400, and lots of torque.
