Tranny Problems in my 96

I just got this car two days ago and have put 200 miles on it. Its a 96 Z28 with the T-56. After getting off the highway last night i drove for about a mile in stop and go traffic. After that i put the car in nuetral to coast to a stop. After that the car WOULD NOT go back into gear i couldnt even muscle it into gear. I had my girl come help me move it and once i had pushed it off the road i could muscle it back into gear but it did not feel right. I had noticed the clutch slipping a little bit yesterday. Anyone have any ideas of what this could be? i need to get this solved asap

thanks

I think the same thing just happened to me tonight. I can put mine in gear with the car off but not running, my clutch pedal feels fine but it dosen't pull the PP out like it should(I think this is the problem), I will be pulling the trannie on monday to figure it out.

Re: Tranny Problems in my 96

Welp mine was the clutch, wish I had a picture I shreded the whole disk, it was a stage 3 with about 17500 miles on it and the springs busted out and jamed in the pressure plate . I had a brand new stage 4 waiting to go in so I threw it in. Do yourself a favor and get the stage 4 no SPRINGS! and it is just as streetable as the stage 3. Just remember that if you do get the stage 4 it will be rough until it is broken in, so don't say its really grabby until you have gotten use to it and have broken it in.
